Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is paid on a Wednesday based on your birthday: born 1st–10th → 2nd Wednesday, born 11th–20th → 3rd Wednesday, born 21st–31st → 4th Wednesday. Started before May 1997 (or getting SSDI + SSI)? You're paid on the 3rd of each month.

When are SSDI payments made in 2027?

SSDI follows the birthday Wednesday schedule: born 1st–10th → 2nd Wednesday of each month; born 11th–20th → 3rd Wednesday; born 21st–31st → 4th Wednesday. If your benefits started before May 1997, or you receive both SSDI and SSI, you're paid on the 3rd of each month instead.

How much is the SSDI payment in 2027?

Are SSDI and SSI paid on the same day?

No. SSI is paid on the 1st of the month; SSDI follows the Wednesday schedule. If you receive both (a concurrent benefit), you get SSI on the 1st and SSDI on the 3rd.

What if my SSDI payment date falls on a holiday?

The payment is issued on the closest preceding business day, so it arrives early. Wednesday payments are rarely affected, but the 3rd-of-month schedule shifts whenever the 3rd lands on a weekend.
