On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, the Social Security Administration sends payments to retirement, survivors, and disability (SSDI) beneficiaries born on the 11th–20th of the month (3rd Wednesday payment schedule).

Direct deposits are typically available by 9:00 AM local time on the payment date, though the exact time depends on your bank. Some banks make funds available at midnight, while others post them later in the morning.

The SSA asks that you wait three additional mailing days before contacting them. If your payment still hasn't arrived, call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or contact your local Social Security office.

For benefits that started May 1997 or later, your payment date depends on your birthday: born 1st–10th means the 2nd Wednesday, born 11th–20th means the 3rd Wednesday, and born 21st–31st means the 4th Wednesday of each month. SSI is paid on the 1st, and beneficiaries who started before May 1997 are paid on the 3rd. When a date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, payment moves to the previous business day.
